The weak George W. Bush silence

Everybody and their uncle are coming out of the woodwork and voicing an opinion on the fast approaching US Elections.

Everybody, that is, except George W. Bush. The question is: why?

As a former President, George W. Bush knows better than anyone else the importance of this election. Judging from his past, from his opinions, from his behaviour, it is impossible to conceive the idea that he will vote for Donald Trump.

All of his friends and associates, like Dick Cheney and Cheney’s daughter, Liz, are actively endorsing Kamala Harris, supporting Kamala Harris and even campaigning for her.

Is George W. Bush quiet because former Presidents are supposed to not have an opinion or at least not to voice it? Well, Jimmy Carter didn’t hide the fact that he has already voted for Kamala Harris. Barack Obama is actively campaigning for Kamala Harris.

George W. Bush’s silence now is too loud, deafeningly loud. Remaining mum, staying quiet in the face of Donald Trump’s totally unacceptable behavior as a candidate, is a disservice to the nation.

It is a sign not of impartiality, but of weakness.
