Northern Banana Republic (2)

In 2020 then President Donald Trump pardoned Charles Kushner, his daughter Ivanka’s father-in-law, who had been convicted of false tax returns, false statements and hiring a prostitute to set a trap against a witness in the trial.

Now, the same Donald Trump, who will be President again next month, has nominated the same Charles Kushner… to be the American Ambassador to France.

Pretty disgraceful, yes? But wait: yesterday, December 1st, President Joe Biden, who will leave his post next month… has pardoned “fully and unconditionally” his son Hunter Biden, who has been convicted of tax fraud and lying on the record about his drug use, in order to be able to buy a gun.

This from a President who had not only promised “never to use my office to pardon my son” but had repeatedly said that he is in favor of gun control.

Biden claimed that he acted like he did because “I am a father”.

I will say that he is a hypocrite. Can any other father in the country pardon his convicted son or convicted daughter and save them from prison?

So, here we are: a convicted felon is about to start his second term as President of the United States and has managed to evade several other legal charges thanks to the cumplicity of a biased judge and a biased Supreme Court.

And a sitting President pardons his son claiming that the prosecution against him emanated from a “partisan judicial system”.

That’s exactly what Donald Trump said about the prosecutions against him.

Donald Trump and Joe Biden are finally in agreement: “this is the Northern Banana Republic!”
