According to projections in several financial papers, the five largest economies in the world in 2050 (measured in Gross Domestic Product) will be 1 - China, 2 - India, 3 - United States, 4 - Brazil, 5 - Indonesia. Japan will fade badly, to eighth place, Germany will be ninth and the UK will be tenth. What is amazing about this? It is that, out of the projected five largest economies in 2050 (China, India, US, Brazil and Indonesia), only the United States was called a "developed country" at the end of the 20th century.
